Here at EAST®, we’ve always been about change, about disruption, about doing it – whatever it” may be – differently, some would even say, “Against the Grain.” What we do every day disrupts the “normal” thinking – the “normal” way of doing things – by developing innovative solutions, putting a fresh perspective on something and by collaborating together – all so that we can transform our communities for the better. We invite all EAST facilitators to join us for #EASTSeminar19 in Stuttgart, AR for interactive and collaborative professional development that goes “Against the Grain.”

Family & Friends at Summer Seminar

EAST invites family members and friends to the EAST Seminar evening activities! However, please be aware that seating in all general sessions and breakout sessions, as well as participation in break service, is strictly limited to registered EAST facilitators.


Lunch will be provided for registered EAST Seminar participants July 24-26, as well as those registered for Tech Camp or Industry Tour (optional) on July 23. Family members and friends are welcome to join you for lunch and can pay the $20 per person, per meal charge on site.

Drop & Refund Policy

Drop Deadline: 3 p.m., CST, Wednesday, July 10, 2019

By registering for EAST Seminar (‘Seminar’), you are confirming that you intend to participate at the levels for which you registered at these events. In turn, the EAST Initiative incurs certain non-refundable costs and expenses on your behalf. For this reason, registered participants who drop their EAST Seminar, Tech Camp, and/or Industry Tour registration(s) after 3 p.m., CST, Wednesday, July 10, 2019, or does not attend, will still be required to pay all applicable registration fee(s).

Not Able to Attend?

Letter Deadline: 3 p.m., CST, Wednesday, June 5, 2019

According to the Statement of Assurances signed by your school administrator and the EAST Initiative, facilitators are required to actively and fully participate in professional development activities (including, but not limited to Phase Training, EAST Conference, and EAST Seminar) on a continuing basis as a part of normal duties. If due to extenuating circumstances, a facilitator is unable to attend EAST Seminar, his/her school administrator may submit a letter to the EAST Initiative, detailing those extenuating circumstances. While this does not place your program in immediate jeopardy, if combined with additional compliance insufficiencies, a collaborative plan between EAST Initiative and the school for corrective action may become necessary.

Should extenuating circumstances arise, please ask your administrator to submit a letter to rinda@EASTstaff.org and CC events@EASTstaff.org for official record-keeping purposes by 3 p.m., CST June 5, 2019.
